Do you share your stories?

I got back Friday morning from Coimbatore. Was engaged on a four-day assignment with an IT company. I met some interesting people there and I want to share their stories.

Meet Prasanna. Worked with TCS in Chennai for 6 months before joining this company. He was one of the trainees in my batch and I got to have a casual chat with him last Monday.

Asked him the obvious question: Why did you join here?

Received this answer: "My mom and dad were in Coimbatore one day, when there was an accident. While waiting on their bike, a bus passing them with it's back door open hit my mom's face. She was seriously injured and was admitted in the ICU. She was on ventilator and remained in the ICU for 40 days.

We had to spend over 6 lakhs for her treatment.

When the doctors met us they said she was a .... 'Miracle'.
Despite being injured on the face, her head was totally fine!

I left my job in Chennai and got to Coimbatore to help at home. My brother quit his job too and has not yet gone back to work. We take care of our mom. And that's how I got to join this company at Coimbatore."

I met Bhavani on Thursday morning. We got the bus together to the office from the guest house.

I'm trying hard to score some assessment sheets from Wednesday when Bhavani, who is sitting right next to me, seems to be on the phone trying to get a flight ticket to Hyderabad to celebrate the Telugu New Year.

We start a conversation. Bhavani during the converstaion says she has a pooja at a particular time tomorrow. So I comment - 'You seem quite a religious person'. She goes on to say about what happened in her life. Unknowingly, she became a victim of a kidney infection and was admitted in hospital.

The infection was so bad, the doctors suggested an operation. Two of them to be precise.

After her operations, one of the doctors came and told her 'This is the first time in my career I am doing such an operation on a 24 year old. This kind of a problem is generally seen in people over 40 years of age'.

When she finished her story, it was time for her to leave the bus.
Wow! I was sitting next to another miracle!

As she was leaving all I could ask her was - 'Do you share your stories?'

1,50,000 people die on average everyday. If you made it this far, and are reading this YOU are no doubt a miracle!

I am happy to be alive!

Do share your back to life stories. You sure would give somebody an extra reason to be happy & alive today.
