Create Opportunities!

Yesterday I was at a meeting organised by the UESI, Kerala staff. It was kinda of an alumni meet where the students who had served with EU in Kerala at various districts in the last 10 years were present.

My experience with EU is very dear as the State office at Edapally was my second home during hostel days between 2003-2005. I enjoyed visiting Shijichan who was the administrator then...met and made some good friends... toured with the musicians at many camps/retreat. Was fun.

Today when I look back... those were great opportunities I received as a young man to play gospel music. Thank God for the opportunities.

Mr. John Samuel IAS, serving at Delhi with India Post, yesterday shared about the importance of creating opportunities. Many times thatz all God is asking of us. When we create those opportunities, we will become a blessed nation whose God is the Lord (Psalm 33:12)

Farewell Viji Achen!

Today... I attended the Holy Trinity CSI church at Vepery to bid farewell to the Rev.Viji who was the vicar of the CSI church in Vepery and is taking his new office of Director of Ecumenical (something at the CSI HQ).

He is one of the priests I respect and consider in high regard. His ability to connect with all audiences, his preparation for sermons/occasions, his humility, concern, etc set him apart from much of the clergy of today. He is one of the achens I have heard people respect, honour and appreciate despite his young age. As a guest at CSI church, I have always felt his attitude very welcoming.

The church at large need people like him. Wishes and prayers go out to you Achen & Kochamma as you take your new office. God bless you Big!!

a day to remember =)

Todayz been a great day!

To start off with, Dr Sam invited Uncle, Aunty and me over to pray for a family leaving to Bihar as Missionary doctors. We prayed for Dr.Stanley and Preena, a newly married couple who were leaving this afternoon to work in a hospital in Bihar.

Somethings that crossed my mind while meeting these people were...

a. Herez a young couple. A doctor with an MS, leaving Chennai to serve on missions. His wife a Phd in Physical Disabilities joins him with a heart to support his work at Bihar.

b. The parents of the couple. They say that they have nothing to give them except their prayers and blessing.

c. Lunch. Simple yet a great way to honor a couple leaving to Bihar on missions with prayers and fellowship and of course God's blessing.

After the meeting.

Dr Sam says he is going to Vellore and needs to be dropped at Koyambedu. I agree to give him a lift to the bus depot. On the way, he says he is going to bring 14 kids to Chennai to stay with him and aunty over the weekend. I agree to join him. We drive down to Vellore in the Ikon and reach Balanilayam, Vellore.

Balanilayam is a hostel which is home to 15 kids whose parents are missionaries in various parts of India. Wow!!

I get to meet the kids and Chandrshekar Uncle and Beulah aunty who take care of them.

Dr. Sam brings 9 of the kids in a Xylo, while 5 of them join me in the Ikon. We have a great drive to Chennai... trying to race each other on the road =)
We stopped for dinner. Itz so heart warming to see their smiles. Man... I havnt felt such happiness in a while. Thank you Lord!

The kids, after having their dinner at the restaurant, ran to the play area and had loads of fun. was nice to see their laughter and smiles.

We drove back and reached Dr.Samz house. Four of the young chaps were fast asleep in the car. Twas nice seeing them sleep. Wow!! One day these young men and women are going to change this world! I am so happy to have met them...

cant wait for 2mrw.... i am taking them to the park at 6am. =)

Lord, I just want to thank you for these small but beautiful moments you give my life. I am blessed to have met these kids today. Thanks for Dr. Sam and Sarah aunty and their heart for people. God bless these kids and their parents. Let these kids have bright futures ahead of them. Let them enjoy your favor all the days of their lives. In Jesus name, Amen.

Today was gr8 Lord!

Character!

Mike shared yesterday about God's Character.

Powerful, Loving and Holy - three traits that define God's character.

The Holiness of God envelopes His love for mankind, His love envelopes His Omnipotence.

God being all powerful choses to work out of His love for mankind. A God so loving choses to correct the sin in our lives with His holiness and finds none except His own Son Jesus who bears the wrath of God and perfects us to be Holy and acceptable and friends of God.

What Character my God! thumbs up!
