Memorable introductions (how they work)

Guess you have been here. May be once or more.

You were given the mic to introduce someone....or better..you were being introduced!

If I were to pick up somebody I have met who really has mastered the art of honoring people - I would give it to Rev. Mathew Thomas. He does it special. And always.

These are some elements to the way he does it...

a. If Rev. Mathew was introducing you, he would have literally 'studied' about you. If he has met you, he would have definitely noticed the nature of your interactions. Plus, he would have made note of them somewhere.

b. Distinct to his introductions, he makes/takes 'time' in introducing someone. No hurry. You have to end up believing he is genuine. =)

c. A Rev. Mathew's expression would go something like - 'We are honored to have Mr. Sam Koshy's presence with us'.(I don't know if many of us understand the word 'honour', but it is a powerful word.)

The difference is the way he says it. Everytime. Everytime - I have seen that he means what he says and my friend if you are the guest, you would feel awesome being introduced.

So the next time you are introducing someone, why don't you make it memorable?
- Do your Research
- Make time for your introduction
- Mean it when you say it

Pretty simple =)

Early this year, I had my moment of being introduced as a guest speaker for an English Service at Muscat led by Rev. Mathew Thomas. His two minute introduction is something I will remember for a long long time.
